Travel Booklet: Producing My Greek Road Trip

I know I’m a Producer by trade, but I think I may also just be wired this way.
Last year, I went on a road trip around mainland Greece — Athens, Delphi, Meteora, Nafplio — and instead of a few notes or bookmarked locations, I ended up creating a full-blown travel booklet.
Yep. Printed, bound, and 60+ pages long.

It had everything, from daily itineraries, facts, myths, as well as restaurant recommendations. I created it because, truthfully, I got a bit ahead of myself. This was a once-in-a-lifetime, bucket list trip — something I’d dreamed of doing for years. And instead of relying on a tour guide, I wanted to be the tour guide.
So, I did what I know best: I planned. I researched every stop, mapped every route, and made sure we had options no matter what came our way.
It might seem a little extra, but honestly? It was one of the best things I’ve ever made.

What was in the booklet?
Accommodation details — confirmation numbers, contact info, check-in notes
Day-by-day itinerary with points of interest, site hours, and notes
Contingency pages in case of closures, delays, or illness
Restaurant picks for each area
Facts and Myths
Why did I make it?

In production, I’ve worked on everything from studio shoots to international live events, and the one thing that’s always stuck with me is this: clarity and preparation create space for creativity.
So even when I’m not on set, I take the same mindset into other areas of life. And it really paid off; the trip went off without a hitch, and we actually got to enjoy it without constantly figuring things out on the fly.
If anything, it reminded me that good producing doesn’t just live in the film world — it’s in how we make experiences better for the people around us, whether that’s a cast and crew or just friends on a trip.
If you’re curious, you can take a look at the full booklet above.
And if you ever need someone to bring a bit of that “producer brain” to your next project — you know where to find me.
